A. Overview

Jomblang Cave is one of about 500 caves located in karst mountainous area of Gunung Kidul. Cave is a cave Jomblang vertical distance between the lip of the cave with a variety of basic, maximum distance of about 80 m. Therefore, to enter it needed the ability to do Single Rope Technique (SRT). SRT itself is a technique used to trace the vertical cave by using a rope as a path for the up and down the vertical fields.

To enter the Cave Jomblang basic, natural explorers can choose one of the usual four-lane pass. The first path is the easiest and often referred to as point 'VIP'. In the VIP line, the first 15 m is a steep path that can still ditapaki with legs. However, because the track is quite steep, then the full SRT equipment is still required to ensure safety. Remaining distance to the bottom of the cave, followed by SRT, sliding down the rope as far as approximately 20 meters. Meanwhile, three other lines is more difficult than this VIP line. This is because the explorers had to use the SRT since the height of 80 m (point A), 60 m (point B), and 40 m (point C). For the new explorers first entered the vertical cave, it is advisable to use the VIP line first. However, for those who have often entered the cave vertical, vertical height of the cave path a challenge, but still have to think about safety factors.

The cave is about 50 m in diameter, first explored in 1984 by Acintyacunyata Speleological Club (ASC), group of cave explorers from the City of Yogyakarta. This cave, has a fairly dark history.
